Module One:  Drawing Lines, Shapes, Forms; Making a Three-Dimensional Object

Learn the art of drawing straight lines, curved lines, creating shapes and forms.  You will use basic lead pencils and combine them with colored pencils.  Apply your newly learned skills to create your own unique three dimensional object.

Module Two:  Making a Celtic Knot

You will learn how to use graph paper to sketch your very own celtic knot design, then will reinforce its design with a combination of colored pencils to create your color scheme for this design.

Module Three:  Shading, Shadowing and Highlighting

Lighting is the focus of this module, as you learn to express it through shading, shadowing and highlighting a pear sitting on a table by a window through the use of charcoals.

Module Four:  Landscaping and Making a Skyline Silhouette

Learn to master contrast as you first sketch a landscape, then apply light and dark coloring to create a breath-takingly beautiful skyline silhouette in stages through the use of acrylic paints.

Module Five:  Self-Portrait

Become your own Van Gogh, as you take a photo and sketch yourself — first with pencil, then with charcoals, and finally by adding color through the use of pastels — or by using your acrylic paints.
